# Star 88 vs Prelude

The clearest difference is update cadence: Prelude at every 5 weeks against Star 88's every 8 months. Prelude also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Star 88's advantage is ratings volume (92 vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Prelude holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Star 88 has 92 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
