# Litres vs Parallel Texts Reader

The clearest difference is rating: Litres at 4.8 against Parallel Texts Reader's 4.0. Litres also leads on ratings volume (9.1K vs 10) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks). Parallel Texts Reader's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Litres sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Parallel Texts Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Litres holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Litres has 9.1K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Litres's written reviews are positive against 54% of Parallel Texts Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Litres ships an update every 11 days, Parallel Texts Reader every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
