# CommHQ vs OnCourse Systems

The clearest difference is rating: OnCourse Systems at 4.0 against CommHQ's 2.8. CommHQ's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 50%) and ratings volume (44 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OnCourse Systems holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CommHQ has 44 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of CommHQ's written reviews are positive against 50% of OnCourse Systems's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CommHQ ships an update every 2 months, OnCourse Systems monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
