# Video Star vs Velomingo

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Video Star at 90K against Velomingo's 1.1K. Video Star also leads on review sentiment (57% vs 34%) and chart position (#88 vs unranked). Velomingo's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Star sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Velomingo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Video Star against 4.0 for Velomingo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Star has 90K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 57% of Video Star's written reviews are positive against 34% of Velomingo's.

Video Star ships an update every 2 weeks, Velomingo every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
