# Record vs Público

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Record at 66% against Público's 22%. Record also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Público's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 2.7) and ratings volume (51 vs 15). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Record sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Público sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Público holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 51 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Record's written reviews are positive against 22% of Público's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
