# MPH/KPH Speedometer vs Speed Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Speed Tracker at 4.6 against MPH/KPH Speedometer's 3.5. Speed Tracker also leads on ratings volume (6.2K vs 21) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). MPH/KPH Speedometer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Tracker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. MPH/KPH Speedometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speed Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Tracker has 6.2K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of MPH/KPH Speedometer's written reviews are positive against 68% of Speed Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MPH/KPH Speedometer ships an update every 3 months, Speed Tracker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
