# Map Plus vs Cartograph

The clearest difference is rating: Map Plus at 4.6 against Cartograph's 4.0. Map Plus also leads on ratings volume (637 vs 5). Cartograph's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Map Plus sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Cartograph asks for nothing beyond the download.

Map Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Plus has 637 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Map Plus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Cartograph's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Map Plus ships an update monthly, Cartograph every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
