# Map Plus vs Mapcha

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mapcha at none against Map Plus's 10. Mapcha also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Map Plus's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 50%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 11 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Map Plus sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Mapcha asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mapcha holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Plus has 637 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Map Plus's written reviews are positive against 50% of Mapcha's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Map Plus ships an update monthly, Mapcha every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
