# Tofino vs Driving BC

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tofino at 88% against Driving BC's 0%. Tofino also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Driving BC's advantage is rating (3.0 vs 2.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Driving BC holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Tofino's written reviews are positive against 0% of Driving BC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tofino ships an update every 2 months, Driving BC every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
