# Castro vs KidiWatch

The clearest difference is rating: KidiWatch at 2.4 against Castro's 1.0. Castro's advantage is review sentiment (38% vs 22%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KidiWatch holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Castro's written reviews are positive against 22% of KidiWatch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Castro ships an update every 3 months, KidiWatch every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
