# Font Maker vs Font Maker

The clearest difference is rating: Font Maker at 4.4 against Font Maker's 2.9. Font Maker also leads on ratings volume (8.1K vs 80) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). Font Maker's advantage is review sentiment (62% vs 20%) and in-app purchases (none vs 7). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Font Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Font Maker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 8.1K ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Font Maker's written reviews are positive against 20% of Font Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Font Maker ships an update every 2 months, Font Maker every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
