# Font Maker vs FontMaker

The clearest difference is rating: FontMaker at 4.6 against Font Maker's 2.9. FontMaker also leads on ratings volume (588 vs 79). Font Maker's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 33%) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FontMaker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Font Maker asks for nothing beyond the download.

FontMaker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FontMaker has 588 ratings behind it against 79, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Font Maker's written reviews are positive against 33% of FontMaker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
