# Destiny 2 Companion vs Finalist

The clearest difference is rating: Destiny 2 Companion at 4.8 against Finalist's 4.3. Destiny 2 Companion also leads on ratings volume (172K vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Destiny 2 Companion holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Destiny 2 Companion has 172K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Destiny 2 Companion's written reviews are positive against 67% of Finalist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Destiny 2 Companion ships an update every 3 weeks, Finalist every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
