# Brainscape vs MemoCard Learn with Flashcards

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MemoCard Learn with Flashcards at none against Brainscape's 4. MemoCard Learn with Flashcards also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Brainscape's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. MemoCard Learn with Flashcards asks for nothing beyond the download.

MemoCard Learn with Flashcards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 21K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 50% of MemoCard Learn with Flashcards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, MemoCard Learn with Flashcards every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
