# Brainscape vs Uncommon U

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Uncommon U at none against Brainscape's 4. Uncommon U also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.6). Brainscape's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (82% vs 50%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Uncommon U asks for nothing beyond the download.

Uncommon U holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 21K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 50% of Uncommon U's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
