# Brainscape vs Cha Cha Island

The clearest difference is rating: Brainscape at 4.8 against Cha Cha Island's 2.0. Brainscape also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (22K vs 3). Cha Cha Island's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Cha Cha Island asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brainscape holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 22K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 100% of Cha Cha Island's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Cha Cha Island every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
