# Brainscape vs Motivation Widget

The clearest difference is rating: Brainscape at 4.8 against Motivation Widget's 3.7. Brainscape also leads on ratings volume (21K vs 3) and chart position (#195 vs unranked). Motivation Widget's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Motivation Widget asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brainscape holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 21K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Motivation Widget every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
