# Brainscape vs Vantero

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Vantero at none against Brainscape's 4. Vantero also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Brainscape's advantage is ratings volume (21K vs 25) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Vantero asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brainscape holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 21K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 100% of Vantero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Vantero weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
