# Brainscape vs Kaplan Student Hub

The clearest difference is rating: Brainscape at 4.8 against Kaplan Student Hub's 1.3. Brainscape also leads on ratings volume (22K vs 12) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Kaplan Student Hub's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (100% vs 82%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Kaplan Student Hub asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brainscape holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 22K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 100% of Kaplan Student Hub's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Kaplan Student Hub every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
