# Brainscape vs Positively Student Hub

The clearest difference is rating: Brainscape at 4.8 against Positively Student Hub's 1.4. Brainscape also leads on ratings volume (22K vs 32) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Positively Student Hub's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Positively Student Hub asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brainscape holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 22K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 100% of Positively Student Hub's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Positively Student Hub every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
