# Brainscape vs Knowkard

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Brainscape at 22K against Knowkard's 1. Brainscape also leads on chart position (#195 vs unranked). Knowkard's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Knowkard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Knowkard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 22K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Knowkard every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
