# Brainscape vs Quiz Notes

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Brainscape at 22K against Quiz Notes's 6. Brainscape also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Quiz Notes's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Quiz Notes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Quiz Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 22K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Brainscape's written reviews are positive against 100% of Quiz Notes's.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Quiz Notes every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
