# Brainscape vs Flashy

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Brainscape at 22K against Flashy's 1. Brainscape also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.1). Flashy's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainscape sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Flashy sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flashy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainscape has 22K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Brainscape ships an update every 3 weeks, Flashy weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
