# Handy Bible vs TJC

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: TJC at none against Handy Bible's 11. TJC also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Handy Bible's advantage is ratings volume (280 vs 6) and review sentiment (88% vs 77%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Handy Bible sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. TJC asks for nothing beyond the download.

TJC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Handy Bible has 280 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Handy Bible's written reviews are positive against 77% of TJC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Handy Bible ships an update every 4 months, TJC every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
