# iAquaLink vs Control4

The clearest difference is rating: iAquaLink at 4.7 against Control4's 3.6. iAquaLink also leads on ratings volume (100K vs 70) and iOS requirement (13.2 vs 18.0). Control4's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

iAquaLink holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iAquaLink has 100K ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of iAquaLink's written reviews are positive against 38% of Control4's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iAquaLink ships an update every 2 months, Control4 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
