# NetShade vs LitVPN

The clearest difference is rating: NetShade at 4.5 against LitVPN's 3.0. NetShade also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (177 vs 1). LitVPN's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 13 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NetShade sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and LitVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NetShade holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NetShade has 177 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NetShade ships an update every 13 months, LitVPN every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
