# iBaloot vs Black night

The clearest difference is rating: Black night at 3.5 against iBaloot's 2.3. iBaloot's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iBaloot sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 3 months and Black night sells 28 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Black night holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 14 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of iBaloot's written reviews are positive against 33% of Black night's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iBaloot ships an update fortnightly, Black night monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
