# Speedometer'' vs Speedometer GPS+

The clearest difference is rating: Speedometer GPS+ at 3.5 against Speedometer'''s 2.8. Speedometer'''s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer GPS+ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Speedometer'' asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speedometer GPS+ holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer'' has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Speedometer'''s written reviews are positive against 47% of Speedometer GPS+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speedometer'' ships an update fortnightly, Speedometer GPS+ every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
