# Crowsflight vs City Compass

The clearest difference is monetization model: City Compass at free against Crowsflight's paid. City Compass also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Crowsflight's advantage is ratings volume (33 vs 3) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

City Compass holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crowsflight has 33 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Crowsflight ships an update every 3 months, City Compass every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
