# Minesweeper X vs Minesweeper

The clearest difference is ads: Minesweeper at none against Minesweeper X's shown. Minesweeper also leads on review sentiment (83% vs 48%) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 164). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Minesweeper X sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Minesweeper sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Minesweeper X against 4.6 for Minesweeper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minesweeper has 1.5K ratings behind it against 164, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 48% of Minesweeper X's written reviews are positive against 83% of Minesweeper's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
