# Jesus Calling Devotional vs User guide for iPhone & iPad

The clearest difference is rating: Jesus Calling Devotional at 4.9 against User guide for iPhone & iPad's 2.9. Jesus Calling Devotional also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (57K vs 526). User guide for iPhone & iPad's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 16.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jesus Calling Devotional sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and User guide for iPhone & iPad sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Jesus Calling Devotional holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Jesus Calling Devotional has 57K ratings behind it against 526, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Jesus Calling Devotional's written reviews are positive against 56% of User guide for iPhone & iPad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Jesus Calling Devotional ships an update every 2 months, User guide for iPhone & iPad every 12 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
