# Pinger vs Get SMS Code

The clearest difference is ads: Get SMS Code at none against Pinger's shown. Pinger's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 20%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pinger sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Get SMS Code sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pinger holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pinger has 70K ratings behind it against 2.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Pinger's written reviews are positive against 20% of Get SMS Code's.

Pinger ships an update weekly, Get SMS Code every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
