# Cube Timer vs Timer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Cube Timer at none against Timer's 3. Cube Timer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Timer's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Cube Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 208 and 81 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Cube Timer's written reviews are positive against 75% of Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cube Timer ships an update every 2 months, Timer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
