# Vrisko vs Nova

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Vrisko at 69% against Nova's 29%. Vrisko also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 15.0). Nova's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nova holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nova has 418 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Vrisko's written reviews are positive against 29% of Nova's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Vrisko ships an update every 3 months, Nova fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
