# UMiami vs Scoir

The clearest difference is review sentiment: UMiami at 72% against Scoir's 24%. Scoir's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.7) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scoir holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scoir has 6.2K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of UMiami's written reviews are positive against 24% of Scoir's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UMiami ships an update every 6 months, Scoir weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
