# UMiami vs Chalk

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: UMiami at none against Chalk's 7. UMiami also leads on ratings volume (24 vs 3). Chalk's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 72%). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chalk sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. UMiami asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.7 for UMiami against 3.7 for Chalk. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UMiami has 24 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of UMiami's written reviews are positive against 100% of Chalk's.
