# Jigsaws vs 48 Pieces

The clearest difference is ads: 48 Pieces at none against Jigsaws's shown. 48 Pieces also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 42%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Jigsaws's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Jigsaws holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 48 Pieces has 56 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Jigsaws's written reviews are positive against 67% of 48 Pieces's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Jigsaws ships an update every 3 months, 48 Pieces every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
