# Snapchat vs Share Frame

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Share Frame at none against Snapchat's 23. Share Frame also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Snapchat's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 56 months) and ratings volume (6M vs 11). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snapchat sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Share Frame asks for nothing beyond the download.

Share Frame holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snapchat has 6M ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Snapchat ships an update every 5 days, Share Frame every 56 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
