# Snapchat vs InsTake

The clearest difference is ads: InsTake at none against Snapchat's shown. InsTake also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Snapchat's advantage is ratings volume (6M vs 5.6K) and chart position (#2 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snapchat sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and InsTake sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Snapchat against 4.6 for InsTake. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snapchat has 6M ratings behind it against 5.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 30% of Snapchat's written reviews are positive against 32% of InsTake's.

Snapchat ships an update every 5 days, InsTake weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
