# Classical California vs WETA Classical

The clearest difference is rating: Classical California at 4.9 against WETA Classical's 4.5. Classical California also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 287). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Classical California holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Classical California has 12K ratings behind it against 287, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Classical California's written reviews are positive against 91% of WETA Classical's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Classical California ships an update every 6 weeks, WETA Classical every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
