# Virtual Keypad vs GenGold

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Virtual Keypad at 13K against GenGold's 29. Virtual Keypad also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (66% vs 50%). GenGold's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GenGold holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Virtual Keypad has 13K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Virtual Keypad's written reviews are positive against 50% of GenGold's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Virtual Keypad ships an update every 2 weeks, GenGold every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
