# Decibel X vs Brainwaves Frequency Generator

The clearest difference is update cadence: Brainwaves Frequency Generator at every 4 days against Decibel X's every 3 months. Brainwaves Frequency Generator also leads on review sentiment (70% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Decibel X's advantage is ratings volume (163K vs 171) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Decibel X sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Brainwaves Frequency Generator sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Decibel X holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Decibel X has 163K ratings behind it against 171, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Decibel X's written reviews are positive against 70% of Brainwaves Frequency Generator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Decibel X ships an update every 3 months, Brainwaves Frequency Generator every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
