# RTP Notícias vs R7

The clearest difference is rating: R7 at 3.8 against RTP Notícias's 3.2. R7 also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). RTP Notícias's advantage is review sentiment (52% vs 26%) and iOS requirement (12 vs 18.6). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

R7 holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 48 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of RTP Notícias's written reviews are positive against 26% of R7's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RTP Notícias ships an update every 4 months, R7 every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
