# Splash Mini vs Spelling Test

The clearest difference is rating: Splash Mini at 4.5 against Spelling Test's 2.5. Splash Mini also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (6.7K vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splash Mini sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Spelling Test sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Splash Mini holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Splash Mini has 6.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 56% and 56% positive.

Splash Mini ships an update every 3 weeks, Spelling Test every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
