# Splash Mini vs Ascend Math

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ascend Math at 100% against Splash Mini's 53%. Ascend Math also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). Splash Mini's advantage is ratings volume (6.7K vs 16) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splash Mini sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Ascend Math sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Splash Mini holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Splash Mini has 6.7K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Splash Mini's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ascend Math's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Splash Mini ships an update every 3 weeks, Ascend Math weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
