# Temperature Converter vs Mercury

The clearest difference is rating: Temperature Converter at 4.8 against Mercury's 4.0. Temperature Converter also leads on update cadence (every 6 months vs every 70 months) and ratings volume (6.3K vs 6). Mercury's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Temperature Converter sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Mercury sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Temperature Converter holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Temperature Converter has 6.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of Temperature Converter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mercury's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Temperature Converter ships an update every 6 months, Mercury every 70 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
