# FotoWare (Legacy) vs PRO EDU

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PRO EDU at 87% against FotoWare (Legacy)'s 50%. PRO EDU also leads on ratings volume (102 vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). FotoWare (Legacy)'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PRO EDU sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $249.99 per 6 months. FotoWare (Legacy) asks for nothing beyond the download.

FotoWare (Legacy) holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PRO EDU has 102 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of FotoWare (Legacy)'s written reviews are positive against 87% of PRO EDU's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FotoWare (Legacy) ships an update every 5 months, PRO EDU every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
