# Washing Machine vs Spintify

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Washing Machine at 80% against Spintify's 36%. Washing Machine also leads on rating (4.1 vs 2.8) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Spintify's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 12 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Washing Machine sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Spintify sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Washing Machine holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Washing Machine has 38 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Washing Machine's written reviews are positive against 36% of Spintify's.

Washing Machine ships an update every 12 months, Spintify every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
