# RunPee vs Name Chat

The clearest difference is ads: RunPee at none against Name Chat's shown. RunPee also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (479 vs 24). Name Chat's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RunPee sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Name Chat sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for RunPee against 4.6 for Name Chat. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RunPee has 479 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 83% and 83% positive.

RunPee ships an update every 2 months, Name Chat every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
