# Brainwaves vs InstantContacts

The clearest difference is rating: InstantContacts at 5.0 against Brainwaves's 4.4. InstantContacts also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 19). Brainwaves's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brainwaves sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. InstantContacts asks for nothing beyond the download.

InstantContacts holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainwaves has 3.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Brainwaves ships an update weekly, InstantContacts every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
